About Tata Tea Museum Munnar
Sited in the Nalluthanni Estate, TATA Tea Museum is owned and operated by Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company (P) Ltd. The Kannan Devan Hills plantation has a long history to tell, and it dates back to the 1880s. The museum was set up in 2005. The museum is situated around 4 kilometers away from Munnar town. The museum will offer you a detailed overview of the remarkable history of the tea plantation. \r\n\\r\\n\\\\r\\\\nThe TATA Team Museum in Munnar, Idukki reveals the progression of Munnar tea estates conveyed through the modern automated tea factory. The travelers can get to know about the diverse stages of tea processing when they visit the museum. There are a number of unique antique materials displayed in the museum, including antique bungalow furniture, EPABX of the1909 telephone system, wooden bathtub, typewriters, iron oven, magneto phone, manual calculators, etc.
Aluva is the nearby railway station at a distance of 109.3 km. Cochin International Airport is about 108.8 km away from the museum. KSRTC buses are available from different parts of Kerala to Munnar.
Tourists can visit the classic TATA Team museum from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. The museum does not allow visitors on Monday. The museum is not opened on all national holidays.
Different fees are charged for dissimilar age groups. Adults have to pay Rs. 75. Rs. 35 is charged for children. You will have to pay another 20 rupees if you would like to carry the camera with you. Free parking is available.
